How I Find Design Inspiration

Sometimes the best ideas strike when I step away and let creativity flow naturally.

As a designer, I’m always searching for fresh ideas—and inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. Here’s a glimpse into my creative process and how I keep my designs innovative and exciting.

Scrolling Through LinkedIn & Dribbble

My brainstorming often starts with browsing LinkedIn for industry trends, thought leadership articles, and creative work shared by other designers. Then, I dive into Dribbble to explore stunning visuals, color palettes, and UI/UX trends. Seeing what others are creating helps me refine my own ideas and stay inspired.

Taking a Swim to Clear My Mind

One of my favorite ways to reset is swimming. The rhythm of the water, the focus on breathing, and the quiet solitude help me relax and declutter my thoughts. Often, my best design solutions come to me when I’m not actively thinking about them—just floating in the pool!

Exploring New Places

Traveling and exploring new environments always sparks creativity. Recently, I visited Mini Mania in Bandung—a whimsical miniature-themed spot full of tiny, detailed worlds. Observing small-scale designs, textures, and playful layouts gave me fresh perspectives that I later applied to my projects. Even a simple walk around a new neighborhood can trigger unexpected ideas.

Letting Ideas Simmer

Sometimes, the best thing I can do for my designs is step away. Whether it’s after a swim, a walk, or a short trip, giving my brain space allows ideas to develop naturally. When I return to my work, I see it with new eyes and renewed energy.

Final Thought: Inspiration Is Everywhere

For me, design inspiration isn’t just about looking at other people’s work—it’s about experiencing life. From scrolling through LinkedIn to swimming laps, wandering through Mini Mania, or just taking a quiet moment to reflect, creativity flows when I stay curious and open-minded.
